Draft North-East Baldivis District Structure Plan
Overview
The Western Australian Planning Commission is seeking public comment on the draft North-East Baldivis District Structure Plan (DSP).
The proposal submitted by CLE Town Planning and Design on behalf of Stockland proposes to guide the strategic development of more than 760 hectares of land in Perth's southern suburbs.
The draft DSP provides a long-term vision for urban development in the City of Rockingham, covering some 760 hectares of land, to ultimately accommodate up to 18,000 people.
The draft DSP represents the next stage of strategic planning investigations for the North-East Baldivis Urban Expansion area, as identified in the South Metropolitan Peel Sub-Regional Planning Framework. The draft DSP proposes to guide future land uses, coordination of major infrastructure, activity centres, educational facilities, open space distribution and the protection of environmental assets.
Approximately 6,000 dwellings are intended to accommodate a future population of 18,000 people, and the creation of 1,260 jobs. Approximately 340 hectares is proposed for drainage and wetlands.
