Overview

The Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) is seeking public comment on a proposal to add a storage facility onto an existing cafe and showroom in the Swan Valley planning area. 

The proposal is for Lot 638 (754) Great Northern Highway, Baskerville.

The property currently comprises:

  • Cafe and showroom 

The proposed storage facility to be added is: 

  • 16.98 m 2 in size.
  • Located behind the existing preparation area for the cafe. 
  • Building materials will match the existing building.
  • Set back 1 metre from the northern side lot boundary. 

The subject site is located within the Village zone under the Swan Valley Planning Scheme No. 1.

While Schedule 5 of the Scheme does not prescribe building heights and setbacks for development in the village zone, it does state that minor alterations or extensions to an existing development may be approved by the Western Australian Planning Commission.
