Planning and Development (Bushfire Risk Management) Regulations 2014
Overview
The preparation of the draft regulations stems from the report, A Shared Responsibility: The Report of the Perth Hills Bushfire February 2011 Review (2011), prepared by Mick Keelty AO following the Perth Hills bushfires in February 2011. The report recommended that “The State Government give legislative effect to the Planning for Bush Fire Protection Guidelines (Ed 2, 2010)”. The proposed regulations respond to this recommendation and complement the recently-released draft State Planning Policy 3.7: Planning for Bushfire Risk Management and revised Planning for Bushfire Risk Management Guidelines, which can be accessed at www.planning.wa.gov.au/bushfire.
Please note that all submissions will be published on the Department of Planning’s website unless confidentiality is requested in the submission.
