Swan Valley Planning Scheme No. 1 – Draft Policies

The Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) has released three draft policies under the Swan Valley Planning Scheme No. 1 (SVPS1) for public comment. SVPS1 has limited Scheme provisions to guide development relating to the ancillary dwellings-rural land use; signage; and vehicle parking in the Swan Valley Planning Scheme area. The draft policies have been prepared to guide the implementation and decision-making for such forms of development.

Draft Ancillary Dwelling – Rural Policy

This policy provides guidance on the provisions of Swan Valley Planning Scheme No. 1 relating to ancillary dwelling – rural development in the Priority Agriculture and Swan Valley Rural zones, to inform proposals and assessment. 

Draft Signage Policy

This policy provides guidance on signage and advertising within all zones of the Swan Valley Planning Scheme No.1 area. 

Draft Vehicle Parking Policy

This policy provides guidance on vehicle parking associated with development and land use in accordance with Swan Valley Planning Scheme No. 1. It outlines the requirements and objectives for vehicle parking in the Swan Valley, information required for development applications, car parking infrastructure and construction, and the desired outcomes for car parking associated with new and intensified development in the Swan Valley.
