Overview

Future of Fremantle represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to re-imagine the future of the Fremantle | Walyalup Inner Harbour port precinct.  

Planning is underway for the proposed relocation of Fremantle’s container port to Kwinana to meet Western Australia’s long term freight needs. The State Government has established the Future of Fremantle Planning Committee to create a vision for the future of Fremantle’s Inner Harbour port precinct in consultation with the community.

The visioning process will explore new economic growth and job opportunities that can benefit both Fremantle | Walyalup and the broader State. It will also investigate the exciting opportunities for new land uses that align to best practice sustainability principles and connects this unique site to the sea and river.

Our aim is to create an aspirational vision that will leave a positive legacy for our state.
