Draft Dark Sky and Astrotourism Position Statement

Overview

The Western Australian Planning Commission is seeking public comment on the draft Dark Sky and Astrotourism Position Statement. The draft Position Statement aims to preserve and protect the night sky for future generations through five dark sky principles, and to facilitate astrotourism through the planning framework.

The draft Position Statement provides guidance to decision-makers on the provision and designation of dark sky locations, and the subdivision and development implications throughout Western Australia; and we are seeking the views of all interested stakeholders.
