Heritage Amendment Regulations 2021
Overview
The Heritage Act 2018 (Act) and the Heritage Regulations 2019 (Regulations) came into effect in July 2019. The Regulations adopted at this time were considered to be the minimum necessary for the functioning of the Act. Changes now proposed through the Heritage Amendment Regulations 2021 activate further provisions in the Act, and revise current regulations as recommended through the operation of the Act since its adoption.
Why your views matter
Extensive consultation and discussion informed development of the Heritage Act 2018. It is important to ensure that all Regulations are given due consideration and meet the needs of modern legislation. As such, the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage is seeking comments on the proposed amendments and additions.
Please note that a separate consultation process is under way for revised draft Guidelines for State Government Heritage assets. If you have feedback on the draft Guidelines, please provide it via the consultation hub survey linked below.
