Guidelines for Heritage Areas
Overview
The Guidelines for Heritage Areas is intended to complement the Guidelines for preparing a local planning policy for local heritage. These guidelines form two parts:
Part one - is a general guide which aims to help identify what constitutes a heritage area and how it fits within the local planning framework.
Part two - provides information for local government planners which aims to support a consistent approach to local planning policies adopted for heritage areas across Western Australia's local governments.
Why your views matter
The guidelines are specifically focused to inform local government planners on the preparation of a local planning policy for heritage areas, which aims to support a consistent approach across local governments. Therefore, we encourage local government planners to have your say on the proposed guidelines.
