Action Plan for Planning Reform - Stakeholder Register
Overview
The Minister for Planning has released the Action Plan for Planning Reform.
The Action Plan outlines three goals for planning reform:
- Planning creates great places for people
- Planning is easier to understand and navigate
- Planning systems are consistent and efficient
Nineteen initiatives have been identified to achieve the Government's vision for reform of the Western Australian land use planning system.
Information about each of the individual reform initiatives is detailed in the Action Plan and associated Background Paper; both of which are available on the Department's website.
Why your views matter
The Department is seeking to establish a register of interested planning stakeholders, users of the planning system and community members.
It is intended to use this register on an as-needs basis to obtain feedback on some reform matters (for example, via online surveys) and to keep interested stakeholders updated regarding progress on the planning reform program.
NB: The Department will separately be liaising with industry bodies and local government and professional organisations to establish a number of stakeholder and working groups, which will attend to the detail of various reform initiatives. Please contact your relevant organisation to express your interest in being involved with the stakeholder and working groups.
What happens next
The Department's Planning Reform Delivery Team will provide updates regarding progress on the planning reform program. Subscribers may also be contacted from time-to-time to provide feedback on some reform matters (for example, via online surveys).
