Revised draft Waterloo Industrial Park District Structure Plan

Closed 10 May 2019

Opened 11 Mar 2019

Overview

The Western Australian Planning Commission-endorsed Greater Bunbury Strategy 2013 identified an area east of the existing suburb of Eaton as the major greenfield urban expansion area for Greater Bunbury, and confirmed the location of Waterloo / Paradise as a major greenfield industrial expansion area.

A memorandum of understanding was signed in 2014 between the WAPC and the Shire of Dardanup to jointly progress planning for Wanju and Waterloo.

The initial draft Wanju District Structure Plan (DSP) was published for consultation in April 2016 and the initial draft Waterloo DSP in May 2017. Since these initial drafts were advertised, Main Roads WA has reconsidered the proposed alignment of the Bunbury Outer Ring Road (BORR).

The shift in the proposed BORR northern section alignment has implications to some of the proposals and layouts in Wanju and Waterloo, although the fundamental land use planning principles set out in the initial draft DSPs remain unchanged.
