Perth and Peel@3.5million

Overview

The Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) is seeking public comment on the draft Perth and Peel@3.5million suite of strategic land use documents which provides options to accommodate 3.5 million people by 2050.

The suite consists of:

• the Perth and Peel@3.5million report that sets the planning context and provides a snapshot of where we are now and where we might be in the future

• four draft sub-regional planning frameworks for
  • Central
  • North-West
  • North-East
  • South Metropolitan Peel.

The draft documents set out where jobs and homes should be located, how we can protect important environmental assets and how we can best utilise existing infrastructure.

You are advised to read the draft documents before making a submission. All comments will be considered by the WAPC before the draft frameworks are finalised as sub-regional structure plans.

Why your views matter

We are consulting because we are interested in your views on the future development of Perth and Peel.

Please note that you will need to provide your email address to complete a submission using this online consultation option.  You will receive notification via email that your submission has been received.  You can save your response and return to it at a later date, until you are ready to submit.  You will receive a unique submission number that will be included in any related correspondence on the draft documents.

• identify which sub-region your comments relate to;
• include the section and/or page number;
• clearly state your opinion and the reasons for your opinion;
• if possible, outline alternatives or solutions to your areas of interest; and
• provide any additional information to support your comments.

You can save your submission at any time and return to it at a later date. It can be forwarded directly through the Citizen Space process or can be printed off and posted or emailed.

What happens next

Your comments are extremely important to us.  Following the consultation period, all comments will be considered by the WAPC before the draft frameworks are finalised as sub-regional structure plans.
