The Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) is seeking public comment on a proposal to amend the Metropolitan Region Scheme (MRS) for land in the Cities of Armadale, Cockburn, Gosnells, Kwinana and Rockingham and the Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale.
The purpose of the amendment is to amend various Bush Forever area boundaries in the Perth Metropolitan Region Scheme (MRS) in relation to rationalisations of zones and reservations to match cadastral boundaries and generally to ensure the MRS is kept up-to-date as the statutory regional plan for Perth.
The amendment contains 21 separate proposals. The draft amendment seeks to add 185.03 ha to Bush Forever and remove 457.32 ha of cleared areas.
The WAPC certifies that, in its opinion, the proposed amendment does not constitute a substantial alteration to the MRS.
