The Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) is seeking public comment on a proposal to amend the Metropolitan Region Scheme (MRS) for land in the Cities of Bayswater, Belmont, Canning, Melville, Nedlands, Perth, South Perth and Stirling, and the Towns of Bassendean and Mosman Park.
The purpose of the amendment is to amend various Bush Forever area boundaries in the Perth Metropolitan Region Scheme (MRS) in relation to rationalisations of zones and reservations to match cadastral boundaries and generally to ensure the MRS is kept up-to-date as the statutory regional plan for Perth.
The amendment contains 13 separate proposals. A total of 244.98 ha of cleared areas is proposed to be removed and 8.56 hectares of vegetated areas is being added to Bush Forever over the 13 proposals.
The WAPC certifies that, in its opinion, the proposed amendment does not constitute a substantial alteration to the MRS.
