Draft Port Hedland West End Improvement Scheme No. 1

Overview

The Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) is seeking public comment on the draft Port Hedland West End Improvement Scheme No. 1, applying to land within the Port Hedland townsite.

The Improvement Scheme will provide land use and development controls over the scheme area, including powers for the WAPC to determine development applications, prepare Improvement Scheme Policies, structure plans, and local development plans.

The Improvement Scheme will replace the Town of Port Hedland’s Local Planning Scheme as the statutory land use planning instrument over the West End area.

The WAPC is seeking comments only on the draft Port Hedland West End Improvement Scheme No. 1 text and map. An Improvement Scheme Report (with attachments) is also provided as a strategic document that sets out the context and explanatory commentary to the draft Port Hedland West End Improvement Scheme No. 1.
