Overview

The Guidelines for preparing a local planning policy for local heritage is an update of the Heritage Council document 'Local Planning Policies; Practice Notes and Examples',  first published in 2007 and updated in 2012. The  revised Guidelines are now specifically focused to inform local government planners on the preparation of a LPP, with a closer alignment to planning terms and principles, and include sample LPP text to assist in the development of local planning policies for heritage.

Guidelines for Heritage Areas is a seperate related document intended to compliment these guidelines.
